I thought that the lunchtime lecture that we had with Theodora Miller was very interesting and actually can apply to my work a lot. I have noticed similarities in my paintings as I have made more and more of them, and hearing her talk about the similarities that she saw in her work was pretty cool. Her realization of the "cells" she found in her work helped create a sense of unity for an entire collection of her paintings, and it helped to show how powerful that can be. Also, her use of painting to express her emotions after her concussion that she had was a very interesting thing to hear about. The way that she painted when she could do nothing else, and how that helped her speed up her healing process was inspirational for my work because while now I am focusing more on developing better skills, It was still helpful to see how her emotions showed within her work. Overall, I was very impressed with the lecture and I will use the lessons I learned in my own work.
