Progression

I think that I have definitely improved since the beginning of the year. In my first portrait, there isn't much line quality, and it doesn't seem to express anything. I think that my most recent portrait is much more interesting because there is varying line quality, and the face is more expressive. I don't think that the composition on my original self portrait at the beginning of the year was anything terrible, but I do think that the composition of my recent self portrait is much more interesting and engaging. One thing that I still need to work on is my proportions. They are still not the best, and although this is an expressionist piece and not as realistic as many of the other self portraits we saw in class, there were still some parts of my drawing that seemed a little too out of proportion.
