Project One: I used sharp stock metal shavings from a metal lathe that my dad had used to create a nest. The crumpled pieces of paper are supposed to represent a dog we are fostering and her newborn puppies. She is a pit-bull that grew up in a meth lab, which is a situation where many people would be worried that she is aggressive or dangerous, but she is actually the opposite. The sharp metal represents her perception, while the nest is meant to represent the actual nature of her and her puppies. I am happy with the idea of the project, but I feel that it is missing something and is a little too simple to be compelling.
